Knox Bryan Peterson | A Birth Story

September 4, 2015 will be a day that I will remember forever. I have known Kirsten since the 7th grade and honestly consider her one of my greatest friends. Kirsten messaged me a few months ago about possibly doing a birth story. I immediately jumped at the thought. I have toyed with the idea of birth stories as a photographer but didn't put much effort into promoting it.

I am not going to lie, I was stressing a bit the 2 or 3 days leading up to Kirsten's induction date, but I am so happy with how it all turned out. This is my first birth story and I sincerely hope to have more come my way.

And now...
Introducing Knox Bryan Peterson
Born September 4, 2015
7 lbs 3 oz | 20.5 inches

Kirsten had such a great support system with her. Kirsten with her father Bryan.

Her greatest support being her amazing husband Rogan. This is probably my favorite image of the two of them. Just patiently waiting for baby Knox.

It is quite unfair that she is in labor and still looks STUNNING!

Starting to get a little uncomfortable

You can't see this but this was flavored ice chips. SAY WHAT?! Where the crap were these when I was there? Just kidding.... Kind of....

Kirsten and her sweet momma Tiffani

Rogan's cute grandma Lynn made this special blanket for baby Knox. It was just a special little thing and I love this image.

Nerves kicked in as she was just told not to move and that baby is coming.

Preparing for a baby!

Meet Dr. Drewes. I was so excited when Kirsten told me Dr. Drewes was going to deliver her son. This same Doctor, almost an exact year ago helped deliver my own sweet babe. It was awesome to see him again.

I honestly thought we were going to have a dad down. There was a brief moment where I was sure he was going to pass out, but as fast as it came it went and Rogan was such an amazing support to Kirsten.

I just love this!

Words cannot express the miracle that I witnessed.

The moment Knox met his momma. Breathtaking.

Daddy cutting the cord.

Dad earning his band.

Knox gave us quite the scare. NICU was called and luckily he pulled out of it and everything was just fine. Scary moment that I PRAY never happens to anyone else ever again.

Cutest little chunk weighing in at 7lbs, 3oz

you can't see it very well but this sweet little boy had a small sore on his hand. Knox would suck on his hand so much that he developed a small sore. It was the cutest thing. I sure hope he outgrew it though.

I have said this multiple times, but I am going to say it again. I am so grateful for Kirsten and Rogan for letting me be apart of this amazing day. Witnessing the miracle of birth is just one of those things that is so precious and so spiritual. I hope in the future that I can do this again.

Please drop a comment and let me know what you all think!

xoxo,
Callie
